Thank you to my personal friends that have donated money to the Student Government Association At Tapestry Public Charter School’s fundraiser to end hunger for the 36% (that’s almost half of the population ) that live in Atlanta that due to COVID-19 are now food insecure. 16% are children and 7% are senior citizens. I have a lot of friends here if each one gives just $1 the students who have organized this fundraiser will meet their goal of giving $500 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank that has been forced to try and find food to give to the many that need it. Please search your hearts. When I think of the helplessness and intense sadness that parents must feel at having to choose between paying a light bill, mortgage/ rent, heat or providing food for their children it just breaks my heart.
